Art Holiday (1) 21st – 28th July 2012
Art Holiday (2) 18th – 25th August 2012
The Art Holiday is packed with activities for exploring a wide range of Artistic materials and techniques. Attend as many or as few classes on techniques and materials as you like, we are also happy just to support you doing your own thing and provide you with basic equipment for watercolours, sketching, acrylics and pastels.
Have fun liberating the artist in you, in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. There’ll be time to relax by the pool, visit the local market and the wonderful Chateau Bonaguil and enjoy convivial candle lit suppers in the open barn.
The holiday is for complete beginners to more experienced artists and educators.
Cubertou is a gorgeous old farm in the Lot region of South West France and has been home to Art Courses since the 1960s. Set in its own 22 acres of meadows and woodland, Cubertou is in a conservation area renowned for its unspoilt beauty, rich history, clear sunny days, glorious night skies and excellent food and wines. A new swimming pool is being built for 2012.

Jo will be assisted by Rowan Fuggle
Rowan is a prize-winning Oxford University fine arts graduate, Rowan Fuggle. Rowan’s technical ability in art is wide ranging. An extremely skilled draughtsman, in pencil and other media he makes use of a range of techniques to produce the most extraordinarily exquisite and detailed work (the pictures below really are in pencil!). He is also a confident painter and printmaker and has a passionate interest in art from the traditional to the contemporary.
Rowan is also a ‘Charlie’ award-winning set and costume designer for two theatrical productions with the Oxford Playhouse.
Rowan has previously assisted on Art courses run by Cork University’s Glucksman Gallery, the Islington Arts Factory and Dame Alice Owen’s School. He has been attending arts courses since he was very young and is as interested in teaching art skills as he is in learning them, be they from life drawing and anatomy to Japanese black ink painting.
There will also be additional practical support from a current or recent art student.
Superb home cooking and local wines are provided and refreshments are served throughout the day. We welcome vegans, veggies and meat eaters. Please let us know of your dietary requirements when booking the course.
