The Course
Repertoire will, ultimately, depend on instrumentalists available, but we very much hope to recruit a trumpeter this year so that we can expand our opportunities. We are currently aiming to include Kapustin Concert for 11 Instruments, Wagner Siegfried Idyll, Stravinsky Soldier’s Tale and Walton Façade in the scheduled repertoire.
There are three coached sessions each day: two in the morning (with coffee break) and the third between afternoon tea and pre-supper drinks.
Afternoons are free time (pool, walks, ad-hoc playing etc.) We make our own entertainment at Cubertou and there is opportunity for ad-hoc playing in the afternoons and after supper.
Arrival/Departure
Please see Getting To Cubertou
Please arrive afternoon/evening on the Sunday (after 15:00). There are no formal activities on the Sunday… just settling in.
On the first day light refreshments will be provided from 16:00 and supper will be at 20:00 (and saved for late arrivals).
The course ends after breakfast on the Saturday. You are invited to ‘build-your-own’ pic-nic at breakfast time to take on your journey.

We are delighted that Peter Davies will tutor this course in 2018. With his love of chamber music and his meticulous, yet gentle, approach to getting the best out of musicians, we are very much looking forward to an enjoyable and productive course.
