Laurence Perkins – Course Director (Bassoon) studied at the Royal Northern College of Music. Laurence is a very experienced and popular chamber music tutor who has led courses at Dartington, Aberystwyth, Malvern and Cubertou (Advanced Wind Chamber) as well as running Wind Serenades. Laurence has a busy performing and recording career, is principal bassoon with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra and teaches bassoon at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Sarah Watts (Clarinet) was an award winning student at the Royal Academy of Music and is also an expert in bass clarinet and in contemporary techniques. Miles Hewitt (horn) studied at the Royal College of Music and with Ifor James, one of the leading international soloists of his day. He has played with most of the country’s leading orchestras and opera companies, taking part in many Proms, BBC broadcasts, commercial recordings and foreign tours. For many years he was a member of English Touring Opera and also has a strong love of chamber music. He has recorded the Ireland Sextet with the Holywell ensemble.

He has taught all ages and abilities from beginner level to students who have been awarded major scholarships to leading conservatoires. He currently teaches at several specialist Cathedral schools, Westminster School, London and several schools in Dorset where he now lives.

Liz Cutts (flute) studied with Edward Beckett, then at the Royal College of Music and more recently with Philippa Davies. After working as a musician for a few years she felt restless and retrained as a software engineer, she worked as such for 25 years. In the last few years Liz has rekindled her love of flute playing and has been playing and teaching with renewed enthusiasm. Liz plays Alto flute with the London Flute Quintet, occasionally gives recitals or plays concertos and runs Cubertou.
