Local Delicacies

The region is renowned for its foie gras, walnuts, truffles, goats cheese (cabécous), melons and wines.

Eating Out

The Duravel Tourist Information website lists various eateries in the area.

We recommend getting a copy of The Rough Guide to The Dordogne & the Lot and checking Michelin Guides for detailed information.

Tipping: Practically all restaurants, bars and hotels have ‘service compris’ and therefore 15% service charge will have been added to you bill, no other tip is necessary or expected. However, you might wish to leave small change.

(For taxis, tour guides and porters; a tip of 1 or 2 euros might be epexted)

Smoking: Is not allowed indoors in any public place, but may be allowed at tables set out doors.
